The journey of cinematic creativity and the keys to the golden screen... a workshop at Beni Suef Mass Communication

Within the framework of the training plan of the Radio and Television Department at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Beni Suef University, the department organized today, Sunday, December 15, 2024, a workshop entitled "The Journey of Cinematic Creativity and the Keys to the Golden Screen", under the auspices of Professor Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of the University, and Professor Dr. Abdel Aziz Al-Sayed, Dean of the Faculty, and organized and supervised by Professor Dr. Mamdouh Makkawi, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs and Head of the Radio and Television Department.
The workshop was presented by Mr. Abdel Khaleq Shalaby, a member of the Cinema Professions Syndicate, and an assistant director for many major dramas, in addition to being a producer, director of photography, professional video editor, and expert in video journalism.
Shalaby discussed the difference between cinema and television in terms of filming methods and the nature of the audience, knowing the meaning of drama and correcting the common concept that it is only tragic. Also, explaining the correct and practical way to write scenarios and the most prominent cinematic techniques such as how to film scenes with a single camera, arranging shots, and choosing the optimal angles.
During the workshop, Abdel Khaleq pointed out the difference between (Story Board - Decoupage - Dramatic Treatment) and their importance in preparing for the work, and the stages of film production starting from the idea until the work is released, with a focus on dealing with the work team and lighting.
Various film and series scenarios were also shown, including most of the scenarios by director Amr Salama, and series from Ramadan 2024, in addition to showing videos from real scenes from the series Haq Arab and other series, and distinctive experiences of advertisements.
The workshop concluded with practical training with students on writing and correcting scenarios, with great interaction from the students during its activity, considering it an integrated workshop that provides everything a media professional needs to become a successful director, photographer, editor, or producer.
At the end of the workshop, Professor Dr. Abdel Aziz Al-Sayed, Dean of the Facuty , and Professor Dr. Mamdouh Makkawi honored the trainer, wishing him continued success and progress.
